Sam T. Joyce, Sheriff, requested an additional sum of $300.00 to <br />complete the plumbing and to buy necessary toilet facitlities for the <br />Jail Annex. On Motion by Commissioner Haffield, seconded by Commissioner <br />Waddell and unanimously carried, the request -was granted. (This request <br />was incorporated in the item to Item transfer subsequently approved at <br />this meeting) <br />On Motion by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner Mc - <br />Cullers and carried, the Civil Defense Director was authorized to <br />pay one-half of the cost of a new radio tower for the City of Sebastian <br />out of Civil Defense Funds received from the sale of surplus equipment. <br />Mr. Roland Miller, Mayor of the Town of Indian River Shores and <br />Mr. Kenneth Sharpe, Attorney, requested the Board to consider leasing <br />the: -old Winter Beach bridgehead property and bridge tender°s house to <br />the Town of Indian River Shores for public use. The Board was receptive <br />to the request and asked that Mr. Sharpe prepare an agreement, incorp- <br />orating in same 1) that the park would be open to the general public, <br />2) that the park would be maintained in a condition satis£acbory to the <br />Board of County Commissioners, 3) that picnic facilities would be <br />available by land and by water, and 4) that, in the event that a bridge <br />is built and it becomes necessary to use this property for this purpose, <br />the right shall be relinquished. <br />Charlie Warren of Wabasso, owner of Lots 10 and 11, Block 8, Colored <br />School Subdivision, appeared before the Board and requested the County <br />to open the road on the west boundary of Colored School Subdivison, <br />south of West Wabasso Road, as he would like to build on his lots and <br />does not have acdess to them.
