The water utilities for this project shall be constructed per the " Indian River County <br /> Department of Utility Services Water & Wastewater Standards" , latest edition . This <br /> document can be purchased from Indian River County Utilities . <br /> Relocation of existing fire hydrants shall include the cost of all pipe , fittings , thrust <br /> blocks , retaining rods , trenching grading , and incidental items associated with <br /> relocation . <br /> Pay Item No . 1644-800 - Fire Hydrant (Relocation) - Each <br /> B . Sewer Utilities <br /> The sewer utilities for this project shall be constructed per the Indian River County <br /> Technical Specifications" , latest edition . This document can be purchased from <br /> Indian River County Utilities . <br /> C . Earthwork and Backfill <br /> Compaction - All fill must be compacted by hand tamping from under the pipe up to <br /> the center line . Backfill shall be compacted in 6" lifts up to the surface to achieve a <br /> minimum compaction of 98 percent of maximum density in roadways and <br /> shoulders and 95 percent in easements , in accordance with AASATO T- 180 and <br /> D-2167 . <br /> D . Ductile Iron Pipe and Fittings <br /> 1 . General : <br /> All ductile iron pipe shall be manufactured in accordance with AWWA <br /> Specifications C- 150 & C- 151 . All buried ductile iron pipe shall be <br /> manufactured in accordance with AWWA Specification C- 151 and <br /> shall be Class 52 minimum . All exposed ductile iron pipe shall be <br /> Class 53 minimum . <br /> 2 . Fittings : <br /> All underground fittings shall be either bell and spigot , or mechanical <br /> joint . Mechanical joints shall conform to AWWA specification C110 <br /> (ANSI 21 . 10-87 ) , or latest revision . All exposed aboveground fittings <br /> shall be flanged joint . <br /> 3 . Bell and Spigot Connections : <br /> Joints in bell and spigot pipe shall be push-on , mechanical , or <br /> restrained joints in accordance with AWWA Standard C- 111 (ANSI <br /> 21 . 11 -85) , or latest revision . Mechanical joint pipe set-screw type <br /> retainer glands will not be permitted . <br /> 4 . Flanged Connections : <br /> Flanged pipe with screwed -on flanges shall be furnished with long <br /> hubs , and the flanges shall be screwed on the threaded end of the <br /> pipe in the shop , and the face of the flange and end of pipe refaced <br /> together .
