Supervisory personnel must be adequately trained and shall <br /> have at least four (4) years experience in directional boring . <br /> The Contractor shall submit the names and resumes of all <br /> supervisory field personnel prior to construction. <br /> 3 . Because of time constraints , the Contractor may wish to <br /> provide multiple experienced directional boring crews . <br /> 4. Directional boring equipment shall be capable of installing the <br /> minimum pipe diameter noted on the drawings. <br /> B . SUBMITTALS <br /> 1 . Submit technical data for equipment including clay slurry <br /> material , method of installation with working drawings, and <br /> proposed sequence of construction for approval by the <br /> Engineer. <br /> 2 . Prior approval for directional boring , the Contractor must <br /> submit the names of supervisory personnel , and history <br /> information of the directional boring experience. In addition , ` <br /> the Contractor must submit for approval the nameplate , data <br /> for the drilling equipment , mobile spoils removal units and <br /> Material Safety Data Sheets ( MSDS ) information for the drilling <br /> slurry compounds . <br /> 3. The Contractor is required to bring to the attention of the <br /> engineer any known design discrepancies with actual <br /> tunneling methods that the contractor will be performing . This <br /> shall be stated in writing to the Engineer at the pre- <br /> construction meeting . .. <br /> C . INSTALLATION <br /> 1 . Installation shall be in a trenchless manner producing <br /> continuous bores. <br /> 2 . The tunneling system shall be remotely steerable and permit <br /> electronic monitoring of tunnel depth and location . Accurate <br /> placement of pipe within a +/- 2-inch window is required both <br /> horizontally and vertically. Turning capability of 90-degrees <br /> radius in 40 feet is required . Continuous monitoring of the <br /> boring head is required , including across open water if <br /> necessary. <br /> 3 . The directional boring Contractor shall submit certification , by ` <br /> a Professional Engineer licensed in the State of Florida , that <br /> the directional boring has been preformed in accordance to the <br /> construction drawings , and shall submit signed and sealed <br /> drawings . Record Drawings (As-Built) shall provide both in <br /> both electronic format and hard paper copy. <br /> 3 - 10 <br />
