i.1111 <br />A Notice of Application from the Trustees of the Internal <br />Improvement <br />Fund,of an application filed by R, D. Carter Engineering Firm on behalf of <br />Ralph E. Hostetler, et ux, to:purchasean�5arcel of submerged land in the <br />Indian River (File #1946-31-253.12) was received. No objections were <br />expressed by the Board. <br />A letter from Sam T. Joyce, Sheriff, requesting the Board to pass <br />a resolution requesting the State Road Department to lower the speed limit <br />from 45 MPH to 35 MPH on U. S. #1, from the existing 45 MPH, to 4th Place <br />south of Vero Beach; and also a study for the traffic light at 12th Street <br />;and U.S. #1, better known as Keen's corner, was received by the Board. <br />Commissioner_: McCullers moved that the Sheriff's request be made to the <br />State Road Department and that a copy of the Sheriff's letter be sent to <br />the Department. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Macdonald and <br />unanimously carried. <br />On Motion by Commissioner McCullers, seconded by Commissioner <br />Bogosian and unanimously carried, the following bonds were approved: <br />Roland B. Miller, Member Board of Trustees, Indian River County <br />Hospital District, Fidelity and Casualty Company of New York, as surety, <br />in the amount of $5,000.00 <br />Joe:.. Henry'Earman, Member Board of Trustees, Indian River County <br />Hospital District, Fidelity and Casualty Company of New York, as surety, <br />in the amount of $5,000.00 <br />W....D. Allison, Member Board of Trustees, Indian River County, Hospital <br />District, Fideltiy and Casualty Company of New York, as surety, in the <br />amount of $5,000.00 <br />Miss Stephanie Leach, recipient of the Martell Scholarship for 196667, <br />has notified the Board of her re -enrollment at the University of Florida <br />for the winter trimester. <br />On Motion by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner Mc - <br />Cullers and unanimously carried, Mrs. Rosemary Richey was authorized to <br />attend the Mid winter Conference of Florida State Association of Supervisors <br />of Elections in .Tampa, January 11 through 14, 1967. <br />Under date of December 23, 1966, a letter was received from the <br />Insurance Agents of Indian River County recommending that the Board of <br />County Commissioners take action to implement the proposed fire districts. <br />The letter was placed on file.
