A. The Contractor shall coordinate with the provider of electric power and install an unspliced, <br /> underground power supply from the pump station to the power pole or transformer <br /> designated by Florida, Power and Light. The Contractor shall install properly sized <br /> conductors in conduit to provide a 230 volt, 3 phase, four (4) wire electric service with no <br /> more than a 5% voltage drop when two pump are operating. Pull or Terminal boxes (if <br /> needed) shall be polymer concrete and fiberglass, with the words "ELECTRIC" embossed on <br /> the top. Boxes shall be "CDR Systems Corp .", model PA124730-26, or approved equal. <br /> All conductors shall be installed in conduit (schedule 40 underground) with long radius <br /> sweeps at all bends. All electrical components and accessories shall be provided and <br /> installed in accordance with the NEC and local ordinances. All costs for coordinating and <br /> installation of the electric service shall be the responsibility of the Contractor. <br /> 2. 19 COATINGS <br /> A. All coatings shall be industrial grade, designed to achieve maximum protection of all <br /> structures and mechanical equipment. All coating components and accessories shall be <br /> provided and installed in accordance with the Drawings and the requirements of Division 09 <br /> of these specifications <br /> PART 3 - EXECUTION OF WORK <br /> 3 .01 SITE PREPARATION <br /> A. Clearing <br /> The Contractor shall perform all clearing necessary, where applicable, for the proper <br /> installation of the Pumping Station and its appurtenances as shown on the Plans. <br /> B. Excavation <br /> Excavation shall be to the depth shown on the Plans. The materials of excavation shall <br /> include all materials encountered and no additional compensation shall be allowed for <br /> difficulty in their removal. The Contractor shall be responsible for the disposal of the excess <br /> material as directed by the Engineer. <br /> 1 . Sheeting and Bracing - The Contractor shall be responsible for properly supporting <br /> the sides of all trenches and excavations with timbers or other supports wherever <br /> necessary or required to properly safeguard the trenches, adiacent properties and <br /> structures. The cost of all necessary timber, sheeting and bracing whatsoever (left in <br /> place or removed), shall be included in the prices bid. <br /> Timber sheeting and bracing shall be left in place if so ordered by the Engineer <br /> and/or where shown on the Plans to avoid undermining or otherwise endangering the <br /> work or adjacent structures. <br /> All sheeting left in place shall be cut off or driven at least 18-inches below finished <br /> grade, unless otherwise ordered by the Engineer. <br /> 2. Dewatering - The Contractor shall furnish sufficient pumping or other dewatering <br /> equipment and shall provide satisfactory drainage during the construction to properly <br /> complete the work. Except for the wet well which is to be installed by the caisson <br /> method, all work shall be installed in the dry. Unless otherwise permitted by the <br /> Engineer, the water table shall be lowered by the use of a well point system. The <br /> 02539-12 02539 - Submersible Pump Station (Rev.) <br />
