SECTION 01091 <br /> REFERENCE STANDARDS <br /> 1 . 1 GENERAL <br /> A . Whenever reference is made to the furnishing of materials or testing thereof to <br /> conform to the standards of any technical society , organization or body , it shall be <br /> construed to mean the latest standard , code , specification or tentative specification <br /> adopted and published at the date of advertisement for bids , even though reference <br /> has been made to an earlier standard . When a reference standard is specified , <br /> comply with requirements and recommendations stated in that standard , except <br /> when they are modified by the Contract Documents , or when applicable laws , <br /> ordinances , rules , regulations or codes establish stricter standards .
