1.2 PERMITS TO BE OBTAINED BY THE CONTRACTOR <br />A. The OWNER has obtained certain permits for this project and they are <br />listed in paragraph SC -6.08 of the Supplementary Conditions. Per <br />paragraph SC -6.08.0 of the Supplementary Conditions, the <br />CONTRACTOR shall apply for, obtain, and pay for all other required <br />permits and licenses <br />Be Provide copies of all permits to the OWNER and ENGINEER and comply <br />with all conditions contained in all permits at no extra cost to the OWNER. <br />If there is a conflict between any permit requirement and these <br />Specifications, the more stringent specification or requirement shall <br />govern. <br />1.3 GENERAL <br />A. Do not begin any other construction work until the pollution control and <br />treatment system has been constructed. <br />Be From time to time, the OWNER or ENGINEER will inspect the pollution <br />control and treatment system and may take effluent samples for analysis <br />by a testing laboratory selected and paid for by the OWNER. If at any <br />time, the OWNER or ENGINEER determines that the pollution control and <br />treatment system is not functioning, the OWNER or ENGINEER will shut <br />the portion of the project down that is not in compliance, and it shall <br />remain shut -down until the pollution control and treatment system is <br />properly constructed or repaired, and operating as intended. <br />Co Schedule construction to minimize erosion and stormwater runoff from the <br />construction site. Implement erosion control measures on disturbed areas <br />as -soon as practicable in portions of the site where construction activities <br />have temporarily or permanently ceased, but in no case more than 7 days <br />after the construction activity has temporarily or permanently ceased. <br />D. Inspect each pollution control system at least once per day. Clean and <br />maintain each pollution control system as required by its manufacturer or <br />the OWNER, until the system is no longer needed. If a water quality <br />violation occurs, immediately cease all work contributing to the water <br />quality violation and correct the problem. <br />E. Discharge shall not violate State or local water quality standards in the <br />receiving waters, nor cause injury to the public health or to public or <br />private property, nor to the Work completed or in progress.
