Quality Assurance <br /> 1 ) Quality <br /> All materials shall be new and properly manufactured, and shall conform to the <br /> requirements of any referenced standards. All materials shall be standard first-grade <br /> quality produced by expert workmen and be intended for the use for which they are <br /> offered. Materials which, in the opinion of the ENGINEER, are inferior or of a <br /> lower grade than indicated, specified or required will not be acceptable. <br /> 2) Source Limitations <br /> To the greatest extent possible for each unit of Work, the CONTRACTOR shall <br /> provide products, materials, or equipment of a singular generic kind from a single <br /> source. <br /> 3) Compatibility of Options <br /> Where more than one choice is available as options for CONTRACTOR' S selection <br /> of a product, material, or equipment, the CONTRACTOR shall select an option, <br /> which is compatible with other products and materials already selected. <br /> Compatibility is a basic general requirement of product/material selections . <br /> 4) CONTRACTOR/INSTALLER (C/I) Qualifications <br /> For a C/I to be considered as an acceptable C/I, the C/I must have had at least three <br /> (3 ) years active experience in the commercial installation of directional bored <br /> polyethylene pipe and must have installed a minimum of 10,000 linear feet or 20 <br /> sections of successful large diameter ( 12" or greater) polyethylene pipe installations <br /> in the United States. <br /> To be acceptable, the C/I shall hold an active CERTIFIED or REGISTERED <br /> UNDERGROUND UTILITIES CONTRACTOR LICENSE with the State of <br /> Florida Department of Professional Regulation Construction Industry Licensing <br /> Board. A copy of the CERTIFIED UNDERGROUND UTILITIES CONTRACTOR <br /> LICENSE shall be submitted prior to excavation. <br /> 5) Right of Rejection <br /> The ENGINEER or the OWNER, shall have the right, at all times and places, to <br /> reject any articles or materials to be furnished hereunder which, in any respect, fail <br /> to meet the requirements of the Contract Documents, regardless of whether the <br /> defects in such articles or materials are detected at the point of manufacture or after. <br /> completion of the Work at the site. <br /> 02400 — Directional Bore Crossings <br /> 02400 - 2 <br /> l <br />
