The CONTRACTOR shall promptly remove rejected articles or materials from the <br />site of the Work after notification of rejection. All costs of removal and replacement <br />of rejected articles or materials as specified herein shall be borne by the <br />CONTRACTOR. <br />D. Submittals <br />1) Along with the required bid and contract submittals, the CONTRACTOR shall <br />submit to the ENGINEER, for review and approval, the items a and b as listed <br />below: <br />a) Five (5) sets of the manufacturer's shop drawings, catalog cut sheets, <br />technical data, installation requirements and recommended methods, and <br />recommended repair methods. Upori approval by the ENGINEER, the <br />manufacturer's recommendations shall become the basis for acceptance or rejection <br />of actual methods of installation used in the work. <br />b) Certification of the manufacturer's compliance with the specified standards <br />and specifications for all materials. <br />The CONTRACTOR shall not permit any materials to be brought onto the job site <br />prior to obtaining approval from the ENGINEER. No pipe shall be delivered <br />without prior notification to the ENGINEER. Each pipe section shall be subject to <br />inspection by the ENGINEER immediately before it is installed. Any pipe section <br />judged to be defective may be rejected. <br />E. Safety <br />The CONTRACTOR shall cant' out his operations in strict accordance with all OSHA and <br />manufacturer's safety requirements. Particular attention is drawn to those safety <br />requirements involving working with hazardous/combustible material, (if needed), working <br />in traffic areas, entering confined spaces, and operating heavy machinery. <br />F. Warranty <br />In addition to the CONTRACTOR'S one-year warranty, the pipe shall be certified by the <br />manufacturer for specified material properties for this particular job. The manufacturer <br />warrants the pipe to be free from defects in raw materials for one year from the date of <br />acceptance. During the warranty period, any defects that affect the integrity or strength of <br />the pipe shall be repaired at the CONTRACTOR'S expense in a manner mutually agreed by <br />the OWNER and the CONTRACTOR. <br />2. MATERIALS <br />A. High Density Polyethylene Pipe (H.D.P.E.) <br />Pipe shall be new, unused, sections of polyethylene pipe having a nominal density of 0.955. <br />The polyethylene resin used to manufacture the pipe shall have a "Plastic Pipe Institute" <br />02400 - Directional Bore Crossings <br />02400=3 <br />
