PART 1 - GENERAL <br />1.01 SCOPE <br />SECTION 02530 <br />GRAVITY SANITARY SEWER PIPING <br />The work to be performed under this item shall include the selling and delivering and <br />the installing of polyvinyl chloride gravity sewer mainline pipe and service laterals as herein <br />specified. Installation of service laterals shall follow the installation of service wye or tee in <br />the main within seven (7) calendar days. <br />1.02 REFERENCES <br />Standard applicable in these Specifications shall be: <br />A. American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM). <br />1. ASTM D3034-81 Standard Specification for Type PSM (Polyvinyl Chloride) <br />PVC Sewer Pipe and Fittings. <br />2, ASTM D2321-80 Standard Recommended Practice for Underground <br />Installation of Flexible Thermoplastic Sewer Pipe. <br />3. ASTM F477-76 Standard Specification for Elastomeric Seals (Gaskets) for <br />Joining Plastic Pipe. <br />4, ASTM <br />D3212-81 <br />Standard <br />Specification for Joints for Drain and Sewer <br />Plastic <br />Pipes Using <br />Flexible <br />Elastomeric Seals. <br />B. American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials, <br />1. AASHTO T-180-74 Moisture -Density Relations of Soils Using a 10 lb. <br />(4.54 kg.) Rammer and an 18 -inch (457 mm) Drop. <br />2. AASHTO T-99-74 The Moisture -Density Relations of Soils Using a 5.5 lb. <br />(2.5 kg.) Rammer and a 122 -inch (305 mm) Drop, as modified by T-99-801 <br />(Dated 1981). <br />1.03 SUBMITTALS <br />A. Shop Drawings - Prior to any fabrication or installation work, the Contractor shall furnish <br />to the Engineer, for review and approval five (5) sets of shop drawings for the following <br />items. All drawings shall be reviewed, approved and stamped by the Contractor prior to <br />submission to the Engineer. <br />1. Pipe length and class, fittings and special pieces. <br />2.
