r <br /> SECTION 02741 <br /> ASPHALT CONCRETE SURFACE COURSE <br /> PART 1 - GENERAL <br /> 1 . 01 SCOPE <br /> The work to be performed under this item shall include the selling, delivering and installing of <br /> asphalt concrete surface courses on "off-site" restored bases, as further specified herein. Final <br /> asphalt concrete surface course shall be completed within 30 days after placement of any <br /> temporary asphalt surface course. <br /> 1 . 02 REFERENCES <br /> Standards applicable in this Specification shall be: <br /> A. Florida Department of Transportation - Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge <br /> Construction (2006) <br /> 1 . Section 300 - Prime and Tack Coats for Base Courses. <br /> 2 . Section 320 - Hot Bituminous Mixtures - Plant, Methods and Equipment . <br /> 3 . Section 330 - Hot Bituminous Mixtures - General Construction Requirements. <br /> 4. Section 334 — Superpave Asphalt Concrete. <br /> 1 .03 SUBMITTALS <br /> A . Manufacturer' s Data - Prior to fabrication or installation of the final asphalt concrete <br /> surface course, the Contractor shall furnish to the Engineer, for review and approval the <br /> following: <br /> 1 . Certification from the asphalt supplier that their plant meets or exceeds the <br /> requirements of Section 320 above . <br /> 2 . Asphalt mix design with supporting test data indicating compliance with all mix <br /> design criteria. <br /> PART 2 - MATERIALS <br /> 2. 01 PRIME AND TACK COAT <br /> A. Prime Coat shall be applied on all prepared bases. Prime coat material shall be Cut-back <br /> Asphalt Grade RC-70 or RC-250, conforming to the Florida D. O .T. Standard <br /> Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, 2006 Edition, Section 916-3 . <br /> B . Prime Coat Cover Material shall consist of sand or screenings , conforming to the Florida <br /> D.O.T.
