C. <br />D. <br />E. <br />F. <br />Primer <br />1) Primer shall be hot bituminous RC -70 material. Alternate primers shall be <br />acceptable only with prior approval of the Engineer. <br />Temporary Surface Course <br />1) The temporary surface course shall be Type II asphaltic concrete in <br />accordance with all applicable requirements of Section 332 of FDOT <br />"Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction", 2000 Edition. <br />Base Course for Unpaved Roadway <br />1) Replacement base course for unpaved roadways/drives shall consist <br />of a sand -clay -shell material meeting the approval of Indian River County <br />Public Works Department. The material shall be a mixture of <br />sand -clay material meeting the requirements of F.D.O.T. Section 912 and <br />shell material meeting the requirements of F.D.O.T. Section 913. The <br />mixture shall be approximately 50 percent of each material. <br />Grass, Shrubbery, Trees, Etc, <br />1) All planted vegetation which is removed, damaged or destroyed by <br />project construction shall be replaced by like kind and in the same <br />manner. Sodding shall be conducted in accordance with Section 02934, <br />of these specifications. <br />3. EXECUTION OF WORK <br />A. Non State -Owned Public Pavement and Unpaved Base Courses <br />1) Base Course - The base course shall be constructed in accordance with <br />these specifications to the details shown on the Plans. Any variance from the <br />Plan details shall not be allowed without the prior written consent of the <br />Engineer. Base Course shall be constructed in accordance with Section <br />02722, <br />2) Priming - Before any bituminous material is applied, all loose material, dust, <br />dirt and other foreign material which might prevent proper bond shall be <br />removed from the base for the full width of application. The surface to be <br />primed shall have any glazed finish removed by "hard -planing' prior <br />to the application. The bituminous material to be used shall be RC -70 or <br />RC -250. Priming shall be conducted in accordance with Section 02722. <br />3) Temporary Asphaltic Surface Course - If Contractor is not prepared to <br />place a final asphaltic surface restoration course within 24 hours after <br />backfilling, a temporary asphaltic surface course shall be applied. <br />02670 - Off -Site Surface Restoration <br />02670 - 2 <br />
