11111 <br />Mr0 Russell Burks and his Attorney o J. Kendall Sharpe, were present <br />before the Board in regard to the Resolution requested at the last meeting <br />approving the Federal Rent Supplement Program by qualified housing owners <br />of property. Commissioner Bogosian stated that he had talked to residents <br />of Gifford and that apparently there is considerable opposition to the <br />development in Gifford, as they feel it will eventually degrade their <br />community, would be source of crime in the area, which crowding people' <br />together has a tendency:to do. Commissioner i•ritenbas substantiated <br />the comments of Commissioner Bogosian and felt it would be detrimental. <br />Mrs A. T. LeFever was also present in opposition to the housing program. <br />Commissioner Macdonald stated that he was surprised at the reactions <br />received by the other Commissioners, since the Progressive Civic League <br />in Gifford and other people who have comne5before the Board have not <br />opposed it. It was his belief that this housing would create and provide <br />housing for low-income groups that badly needed it.a Mr.`..James.Ca Jenkins, <br />a resident of Gifford, a land -owner and taxpayer was present and spoke <br />in favor of the development. After further discussion, Commissioner <br />McCullers moved that the following Resolution be adopted, seconded by <br />Commissioner Macdonald. On roll call, Commissioner Bogosian and <br />Commissioner Dritenbas voted against the adoption of the Resolutions <br />Commissioner Macdonald and Commissioner McCullers and Chairman Graves <br />voted for the adoption, and thereupon, the following Resolution was <br />adopted: <br />Ida 9.0 ►ACE265 <br />FEB 2 21967 <br />
