Mr. Robert Batterman, President of the Pioneer Occupational <br />Center for the Handicapped, Port Salerno, Florida, appeared before the <br />Board and explained that the $4,000 requested in their letter of February <br />9 was a total for the four counties served by the center and asked the <br />Board to consider the amount of $500.00. Mr-Battermaninstated that he <br />has visited the Sunshine Center and felt there was no conflict of interest. <br />After discussion, Commissioner Macdonald moved that the Board enter into <br />a contract with the Pioneer Occupational Center,for.:the Handicapped, Inc., <br />of Florida, a non-profit corporation, in which the County agrees to pay <br />the center $500.00, and in exchange, the Center will provide the necessary_, <br />testing and vocational training to help the handicapped residents of <br />Indian River County; and that the form of contract, submitted herewith, <br />is approved and the Chairman and the Clerk are directed to execute it on <br />behalf of the County; and that an Item to Item transfer of $500.00 be <br />approved in the General Fund, from account.no. 951, Contingencies to <br />account no. 536, Mental Health. Motion was seconded by Commissioner <br />Bogosian and unanimously carried. <br />On Motion by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner <br />McCullers and unanimously carried, the form of Ballot for the Special <br />General Election to be held on Tuesday, March 28, was approved as <br />submitted by the Supervisor of Registration. - <br />The County Attorney reported the recommendations of the Planning <br />and'Zoning Commission regarding Dr. Ernest R. Bartley's Proposed Land <br />Use Plan and after discussion Motion was made by Commissioner Macdonald, <br />seconded by Commissioner Mccullers and unanimously carried, that this <br />Board approves the recommendations of the Planning and:.Zoning. Commission on <br />the proposed Master Plan for the area of the County lying between the <br />'Indian River and the Ocean, north of Town of Indian River Shores, as set <br />forth in the Planning and Zoning Commission minutes of March 14, 1967. <br />MAR 2 21967 <br />A <br />PACE <br />
