The Board requested the County Administrator to plot on <br />a larger map, the businesses licensed for consumption on premises <br />in the Gifford area, and the location of churches and schools, giving <br />the date of the beverage license, and the date of construction of <br />church and school; and that the requests for' transfer of the beverage <br />license for the Davis Grocery, Chicken Shack and Blue Seas be tabled <br />until the map and prohibiting Resolutions adopted previously have <br />been reviewed by the Board. <br />Mr. James V. Slade, Mrs.. Murray Michaels and Mr. Don Sembler <br />were present to again thank the Board for their action regarding <br />dredging in the Indian River and reported that a study will be made <br />by conservation groups to determine whether dredging of the river <br />opens up wells causing freshwater seepage into the river. <br />Tlie Chairman appointed Commissioner Dritenbas, Commissioner <br />McCullers and Sherman N. Smith,County Attorney, as a committee to <br />work on the administrative aspects of the County Building Code. <br />Civil Defense Director Thomas H. Trent requested approval <br />of the purchase of a high frequency transiever, with associated <br />power supply, in order to receive and send messages with CD District <br />Headquarters in Orlando who has changed their frequency, making the <br />local system incomplete. The estimated cost to be $454.00. The <br />Board tabled the request and suggested Mr. Trent see if other <br />arrangements can be made through the Sheriff's Department or ham operators. <br />On Motion by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner <br />Dritenbas and unanimously carried, the Civil Defense Director was <br />authorized to attend a CD meeting in Jupiter, May 29. <br />The Board again discussed the objections voiced by Mr. Eugene <br />• <br />Cobb at the May...1O meeting pertaining to the r/w of Dale Street in <br />Roseland and it was the opinion of the Board that the 70' right of way <br />is necessary and the County Administrator was requested:to so adviseoMr. <br />Cobb•. <br />MAY 2 41967 <br />Mk ok 10 pAGE359 <br />
