Task 2.1 Review of Permit Conditions, Biological Monitoring Program <br />Requirements, and Regulatory Agency Correspondence/County <br />Responses <br />CEG will review all existing permit applications, issued permit(s) and permit conditions, <br />biological monitoring plan and monitoring methods, and regulatory agency <br />correspondence and corresponding submittals from County and/or County's designated <br />agent. This review will assist in the evaluation of the current status of the biological <br />monitoring program and feasibility of successfully acquiring the biological data for <br />hardbottom community impact analysis under the permitted monitoring protocol. All <br />work under this task will be conducted by Ms. Miller, Principal Scientist. <br />Task 2.2 Review of Pre-Construction/Post-Construction Monitoring Reports <br />And Video Transects/Data For Sectors 1 & 2, Indian River County <br />Nourishment Project <br />CEG will review all existing pre -construction, construction phase, and post -construction <br />biological monitoring reports and video transect data for Sectors 1 & 2 in the evaluation <br />of existing site conditions, assessment of biological monitoring methods and quality of <br />data collected under the permitted monitoring protocol. All work under this task will be <br />conducted by CEG's Principal Scientist. <br />Task 2.3 Field Reconnaissance Survey of Nearshore Monitoring Sites and <br />Data Review <br />CEG will perform a one -day survey of select nearshore monitoring sites in Sectors 1 & 2 <br />to evaluate site conditions and underwater visibility, obtain representative still <br />photographs and video transect data, and perform in-situ, quantitative and qualitative <br />benthic assessments for species composition and density. This survey will assist in the <br />evaluation of the of the permitted biological monitoring program and development of <br />potential alternative methods for biological monitoring and data collection/analysis. This <br />task assumes that the County will provide the boat, captain and navigational assistance <br />for one day of field work. Additional time and costs will be required if CEG is responsible <br />for providing the boat, captain, and navigational assistance. <br />Task 2.4 Report Preparation - Technical Review of Permitted Biological <br />Monitoring Program and Recommendations for Alternative <br />Monitoring Methods for Future Application to Hardbottom Impact <br />Assessment In Indian River County <br />CEG will prepare a written report to provide the technical review of the permitted <br />biological monitoring program and recommendations for alternative monitoring methods <br />and data analysis for future application to beach nourishment projects in Indian River <br />County. Five hard copies and one electronic copy of the report will be provided to the <br />County. <br />Task 3 Draft Biological Monitoring Plan <br />Based on CEG's recommendations and DEP's comments, ATM will provide DEP with a draft <br />Biological Monitoring Plan. The plan will be submitted to DEP in support of both of the <br />Ambsersand and Sector 7 projects. <br />Task 4 Baseline Sea Turtle Monitoring — Sectors 1 & 2 <br />
