Letters from the Vero Beach City Manager James F. Pryde and <br />Airport Director YlOyddBoyer stating that they approve the right- <br />of-way and alignment plans prepared by Lloyd and Associates for 43rd <br />Avenue, through City property, between Walker Avenue and South Gifford <br />Road were received. Motion was made by Commissioner Macdonald that <br />the Clerk be instructed to pay the bill rendered by Lloyd and Associates <br />in the amount of $3,600.00, to be charged against Road and Bridge <br />Account #911, Road Tax to Municipalities. Motion seconded by Commissioner <br />Dritenbas and unanimously carried. <br />The Board recessed at 12:00 noon and reconvened at 1:15 P. M. <br />A letter dated August 15 from James F.' Pryde, City Manager, <br />stating that the City is interested in coordinating efforts to get <br />that portion of 43rd Avenue which lies within the City paved at as early <br />a date as possible was received. No action was taken. <br />J. A. Thompson, Superintendent, Board of Public Instruction, <br />appeared before the Board and requested that the County transfer the <br />forty acres South of the present Vero Beach Senior High School to the <br />School Board to be used as a site for the construction of a new elementary <br />school. On Motion by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner <br />Bogosian, the request of the School Board was granted. <br />L. B. (Buck) Vocelle, Attorney and Johnny Cann, Mayor, City of <br />Fellsmere, appeared before the Board and requested County participation <br />in the surfacing of Willow Street north from SR 512 north to the Fellsmere <br />City limits and the east end of New York Avenue from the present paved <br />section to Willow Street. After discussion, Motion was made by Commissioner <br />Macdonald that the Administrator be requested to review this project <br />in all respects (drainage, etc) and as soon as possible give an estimate <br />of the costs and it will be discussed again at that time.
