Mr. and Mrs. H. D. Arnold appeared before the Board and presented <br />a petition signed by approximately thirty-three residents of Whispering <br />Palms Subdivision requesting that the building used as a school bus stop <br />be moved from the corner of 1st. Street S. W. and 6th Drive S. W. They <br />stated that the sign placeiat the building does not deliver them from <br />any nuisance whatsoever. A letter was also received dated September 5, <br />signed by Katharine Ingerson, as spokesman for five of the parents in <br />the Subdivision thanking the Board for consideration given to the <br />Petition submitted by parents in favor of leaving the bus stop in the <br />present location and requesting that a public hearing be held before <br />any further decisions are reached with regard to the matter. After <br />further discussion, Commissioner Dritenbas moved that the Board condemn <br />the use of this building for any purpose whatsoever; and that it be <br />-removed from the location. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Bogosian <br />and unanimously carried. <br />• <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Macdonald that this Board does <br />herewith declare that it does not in any control school, bus routes, <br />shelters, pick-up points or discharge points, or any other purpose <br />dealing with the public transportation of school children; that it here- <br />with gives:_ and grants the Board of Public Instruction, which does have: ,;:1. <br />control iri such matters, the exclusive ownership, possession and use <br />of any and all school bus stops now existing or hereafter to exist; <br />providing only that such facilities shall not interfere with the <br />obligation of the County for maintenance of the public roads. 'Motion <br />was seconded by Commissioner Bogosian and unanimously carried. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Dritenbas, seconded by Commissioner <br />Bogosian and unanimously carried, that the Board herewith signifies its <br />consent to the suggestion of the State Road Department that all that <br />part of Tropic Avenue, as shown on the plat of Weona Park Subdivis ion, <br />lying between Blocks 3 and 10, except that part lying within the right- <br />of-way of the proposed State Road 510, Section 88050-2504, will be <br />SEP 6 197 <br />4 <br />ono 10 get453 <br />
