SERVICE ENTRANCE STANDARDS. <br />(a) All services shall be run in approved threaded conduit, <br />minimum size one and one-half (1 1/2) inch rigid conduit to be run as <br />a mast through the roof, unless written approval is obtained from the <br />electric utility department. <br />(b) Underground services may be run with approved cable at. <br />a minimum depth of 30 inches, from which pointit shall be sleeved <br />for mechanical protection. <br />(c) Service masts minimum. size 1 1/2" Rigid Conduit, which <br />must be properly secured and have a minimum clearing 30" from <br />bottom -wire above the roof. Meter trough set 5 1/2 to 6 ft. from <br />finish grade. <br />(d) Temporary services shall have a minimum of 10 feet <br />clearance, be of approved material and be properly braced and <br />supported. <br />(e) Only threaded thick wall metalconduit will be accepted <br />when exposed to the weather and it must be galvanized, or its equiva- <br />lent. Electrical metallic tubing may be used from meter socket to <br />entrance switch, if not exposed to the weather. <br />(f) Meter rooms shall be provided in all buildings of multiple <br />occupancy (four or more occupancies) and shall have minimum require- <br />ments of: 4 to 8 meters—4' -4' x 6' x 7' inside diameter and if the elec- <br />trical requirements and demand is larger, the meter room shall be <br />increased accordingly. This meter room shall be equipped with a <br />ventilated door, and approved lock which may be locked only with the <br />approval of the Electrical Inspector, The meter room shall be acces- <br />sible <br />cces-sible to all occupancies of the building at all times. The meter room <br />shall be provided with adequate ventilation.
