Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner Dritenbas and <br />unanimously carried that Mr. Trent be authorized to have a <br />feasibility study made of the basement of the Courthouse for its <br />use as an Emergency Operating Center. <br />A Motion was 'made by Commissioner Dritenbas, seconded by <br />Commissioner Bogosian and unanimously carried that the Administrator <br />be authorized to investigate chemical eradication of the weed growth <br />in the Tropicolony Park pond and if the chemicals are unavailable to <br />go into the pond with County equipment and clean out the pond. <br />Lawrence Wineland, U.pS, Department of the Interior, Fish and <br />Wildlife Department appeared before the Board stating that with the <br />closing of the sugar mill a great amount of pollution of the Sebastian <br />River had been eliminated and that a fish stocking program might now <br />be made in that area. On a Motion made by Commissioner Macdonald, <br />seconded by Commissioner Bogosian and unanimously carried the <br />Administrator was requested to write a letter to Mr. Lawrence Wineland <br />requesting him to instigate a survey of the Sebastian River to <br />determine whether or not the level of pollution had been reduced to <br />the point that it would support fishand other aquatic life, and if so <br />that the necessary steps to request a fishery stocking program be taken. <br />A Motion was made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by <br />Commissioner Bogosian and unanimously carried that Mrs. Peggy Kuster, <br />Vero Beach Humane Society, be authorized to make the trip to Bartow <br />to attend the annual meeting of the Animal Control Officers' <br />Association on Saturday, May 25, 1968. <br />A Motion was made by Commissioner Bogosian, seconded by <br />Commissioner Dritenbas and unanimously carried that the Administrator <br />be authorized to set public hearings for the zoning changes for Harold <br />E. Royal and Ralph Sexton. <br />The County Administrator presented a plat of 'a Subdivision known <br />as Orange Heights Subdivision, Unit #3, Sebastian; Florida and <br />recommended its approval as it has been approved and signed by all <br />of 'the officers of the City.
