of Indian River County has no objection to an amendment of Chap. 57-1411, <br />Laws of Florida,. regarding transportation of oysters from the County, <br />provided any such amendment is applicable only to oysters raised on <br />lands leased from the State of Florida and transported by fish dealers <br />licensed in Indian River County. <br />Irving Hodson, of the Vero Beach Press Journal, appeared in <br />regard to the 50th anniversary of the City of Vero Beach, and <br />suggested that the County might be interested in advertising at a <br />cost of $235.00 per page. No action was taken by the Board. <br />Merrill Barber of the Long Range Planning Authority reported <br />and made the recommendations of the Planning Authority to the Board. <br />Mr. Barber suggested that the Commissioners take up the problem of <br />Interstate I 95 and the repercussions upon SR 60 and the City of <br />Vero Beach with the State Road Department; and or, if necessary, <br />bring the matter to the attention of the United States Senators and <br />Representatives. Mr. Barber further discussed the problems immediately <br />confronting the County and stressed the need of a City -County Planner. <br />R. A. Bluem, Engineer for General Development Corporation, <br />appeared before the Board in regard to Miami Type Gutters, stating <br />that according to the price of the lots, the cost of this type gutter <br />is too involved. He requested that asphalt gutters be considered <br />and stated that he would like to get more information concerning other <br />types of gutters and return this information to the Board. <br />The Administrator reported that he had contacted the State Road <br />Department regarding the traffic lights at Wabasso; and that a letter <br />has been received from John Wilson stating that a study is being <br />made and the findings of that study will be reported to the County <br />Commissioners. <br />The Administrator reported that there were continuing problems <br />with the air -conditioner unit serving the north end of the Courthouse, <br />that it would cost about $1,000.00 to replace the unit or about $400.00 ' <br />for a new compressor. On a Motion made by Commissioner McCullers, <br />seconded by Commissioner Massey and unanimously carried the Administrator <br />was authorized to advertise for bids for a new airconditioner for <br />Book 1.2 1111.415 <br />the north end of the Courthouse. <br />1111nR 1 9 1969 <br />
