Beth Johnson, State Senator, appeared before the Board requesting <br />that the members of the Board of County Commissioners individually <br />communicate with her regarding the problems of the County and <br />the solutions to the problems. <br />James L. Hair appeared before the Board in regard to the BIO <br />Reef in Brevard County. Mr. Hair, Chairman of the Legislative <br />Committee of the Vero Beach Anglers Club, stated that the reef <br />was a worthy project•and that hefelt that the Board should voice <br />their support of the project. On `a Motion made by Commissioner <br />Bogosian, seconded by Commissioner McCullers, the following <br />Resolution was unanimously adopted: <br />RESOLUTION 6 9- 5 0 <br />WHEREAS, BIO Reef is anon -profit Florida corporation <br />designed to build the world's largest artificial reef, and - <br />WHEREAS, if constructed, this reef will be dedicated to <br />oceanography, recreation, mariculture and education, and- <br />WHEREAS, this facility would enhance the State of Florida's <br />position in oceanography and mariculture as well as recreation. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of County <br />Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, to hereby go on <br />record supporting the construction of the aforementioned reef. <br />Marvin Carter of the Carter Engineering Firm, Inc. appeared <br />• <br />before the Board on behalf of the Smuggler's Cove. Subdivision. <br />The County Administrator presented a tentative plat of a <br />Subdivision known as Smuggler's Cove Subdivision , and recommended <br />its tentative approval as meeting County Subdivision Requirements. <br />Upon a Motion made by Commissioner McCullers, seconded by <br />Commissioner Massey and unanimously carried the recommended <br />tentative approval was given for Smuggler's Cove Subdivision, <br />with the provision that all building be done in accordance with <br />12 PA�E�3 <br />County Subdivision RegulationS[n 2 4 19E <br />
