• The Administrator reported that he has received information from the Department of Transportation that the speed limit on the: North Gifford Road has been reduced to 45 and 55 miles per hour, and that the State Department of Transportation are affixing the appropriate signs; that he has also received information that the flashing signals will be set up at all of the County Schools. The Administrator reported that he has received a letter from R. W. Froemke, Chief of Concurrent Programs, Outdoor Recreational Development Council, that the County has been granted an extension of time in the procurement of additional; land for the Kiwanis- Hobart Park. On a Motion made by Commissioner McCullers seconded by Commissioner Massey, it was unanimously carried that the Administrator be instructed to advise the Corp of Engineers, Department of the Army that the Board has no objection to the permit of January 10, 1961 being revised to permit dredging in the west side of the Channel at the Sebastian Inlet and depositing the spoil in the designated spoil area. A Motion was made by Commissioner. McCullers, seconded by Commissioner Massey and unanimously carried that the request by General Development Corporation fortentative approval of Vero Beach Highlands Subdivision, Unit 44 bedenied until they submit a typical section of the type of pavement to be used in the Subdivision. The Administrator submittedthe sketch of 32nd Avenue as mentioned in the Minutes of October 8; and /stated that the County could only maintain the part of the Street located in the County. Commissioner McCullers then left the meeting. Paul D. Burch, Attorney to the Board, reported to the Board that an Act of Legislature having been passed revoking governamental immunity in tort liability, he had received a letter from the Insurance Carrier stating that the carrier could not insure the County en masse; and that a detailed list for liability coverage should be made. It was suggested that he might contact the State Association of County Commissio regard to the 2._.14Aci problem.
