• <br />The Administrator reported that he has received information <br />from the Department of Transportation that the speed limit on the: <br />North Gifford Road has been reduced to 45 and 55 miles per hour, <br />and that the State Department of Transportation are affixing the <br />appropriate signs; that he has also received information that <br />the flashing signals will be set up at all of the County Schools. <br />The Administrator reported that he has received a letter from <br />R. W. Froemke, Chief of Concurrent Programs, Outdoor Recreational <br />Development Council, that the County has been granted an extension <br />of time in the procurement of additional; land for the Kiwanis- <br />Hobart Park. <br />On a Motion made by Commissioner McCullers seconded by <br />Commissioner Massey, it was unanimously carried that the Administrator <br />be instructed to advise the Corp of Engineers, Department of the <br />Army that the Board has no objection to the permit of January 10, <br />1961 being revised to permit dredging in the west side of the <br />Channel at the Sebastian Inlet and depositing the spoil in the <br />designated spoil area. <br />A Motion was made by Commissioner. McCullers, seconded by <br />Commissioner Massey and unanimously carried that the request <br />by General Development Corporation fortentative approval of Vero <br />Beach Highlands Subdivision, Unit 44 bedenied until they submit <br />a typical section of the type of pavement to be used in the <br />Subdivision. <br />The Administrator submittedthe sketch of 32nd Avenue as <br />mentioned in the Minutes of October 8; and /stated that the County <br />could only maintain the part of the Street located in the County. <br />Commissioner McCullers then left the meeting. <br />Paul D. Burch, Attorney to the Board, reported to the Board <br />that an Act of Legislature having been passed revoking governamental <br />immunity in tort liability, he had received a letter from the <br />Insurance Carrier stating that the carrier could not insure the <br />County en masse; and that a detailed list for liability coverage <br />should be made. It was suggested that he might contact the State <br />Association of County Commissio regard to the <br />2._.14Aci <br />problem. <br />
