RESOLUTION Y'''16 <br />Be it resolved by the Board of Commissioners of Indian River <br />County, Florida, as follows: <br />1. Every Officer, Board, Department, Commission or Agency of the <br />Board of County Commissioners of the County of Indian River <br />charged with the duty of preparing specifications, or award- <br />ing or entering into contracts for the design, erection or <br />construction of County buildings, or other County structures, <br />including additions to existing structures, for the County <br />shall incorporate, or cause to be incorporated, in such County <br />buildings or other County structures, protection from radio- <br />active fallout, for at least its normal anticipated occupancy, <br />which shall meet, or exceed, the minimum space and protection <br />criteria recommended by the Office of Civil Defense, United <br />States Department of Defense, unless exempted from such shelter <br />requirements in accordance with Section (2) of this resolution. <br />2. The Board of County Commissioners may exempt County buildings <br />or other County structures from the requirements of this <br />resolution where it finds that the addition of fallout pro- <br />tection will create, in the County building or other County <br />structure, an additional net cost in excess of three per cent <br />( 3% ) in the construction of such building, or that other <br />factors make it unnecessary or impracticable to incorporate <br />fallout protection in the design or construction of such <br />building structure. <br />3.
