A letter was received from State Representative Charles Davis <br />that the Delegation wishes to repeal the bill disallowing surfing <br />and swimming in the Sebastian Inlet, stating that it is a County <br />function. <br />The Board then adjourned at 12:15 o'clock P. M. and reconvened <br />at 1:35 o'clock P. M. <br />Homer Simpson, President of the City Council of Fellsmere, <br />and other residents appeared requesting the assistance of the County <br />to acquire suitable property to be used as a joint City -County <br />sanitary dump in the Fellsmere area. The Chairman to the Board <br />appointed Commissioner Massey to work with these residents to find <br />a suitable solution to this problem. <br />On a Motion made by Commissioner Loy, seconded by Commissioner <br />Bogosian, the State Witness Payroll for the County Court, February <br />Term, in the amount of $179.08 and the State Witness Payroll for <br />the County Court, February Term, in the amount of $145.00 were <br />unanimously approved. <br />On a Motion made by Commissioner Bogosian, seconded by <br />Commissioner Loy, the application of Margaret M. Madsen for renewal <br />for a license to carry firearms was unanimously approved. <br />On a Motion made by Commissioner Loy, seconded by Commissioner <br />Bogosian, the Civil Defense Director was unanimously authorized to <br />purchase short wave radio equipment to tie in with the Courthouse, <br />installation not to exceed $150.00. <br />The Report of the County Welfare Caseworker and the Financial <br />Report of the Operation'of the Sebastian Inlet Park for the past <br />six months were received and placed on file in the office of the <br />Clerk. <br />Acknowledgement of Resolution 70-16 relative to porpoises <br />and other Cetaceans was received from Randolph Hodges of the <br />Department of Natural Resources. <br />Forrest N. McCullars, County Agricultural Extension Agent, <br />appeared before the Board requesting more compensation for himself <br />and his secretary. <br />MAY 6 1970 <br />11 Y �n0{ <br />16 <br />
