On a Motion made by Commissioner Massey, seconded by <br />Commissioner McCullers, it was unanimously carried that the <br />following bids as bid in the bid opening of 9:30 o'clock, on the <br />recommendation of the Administrator be accepted as the lowest and <br />best bids: <br />Item No. Bid by In the Amt. of. <br />1, Arn6ld Ford Sales $2,299.64 <br />2. Arnold Ford Sales 2,496.00 <br />3. Kenn Terry, Inc. 4,669.38 <br />4. Motorola (Only bid) 11050.00 <br />John L. Murman, Southgate Village appeared before the Board <br />protesting the use of 12th Street between U. S. 1 and 6th Avenue <br />by speeding trucks. No action was taken by the Board. <br />On a Motion made by Commissioner McCullers, seconded by <br />Commissioner Loy, the request of Paul D. Burch, Attorney to the <br />Board of County Commissioners, to travel to Tallahassee on May 13, <br />1970 to attend a meeting of the Legislature to present material <br />compiled on the Charlene Williams case, was unanimously approved. <br />A Motion was made by Commissioner McCullers, seconded by <br />Commissioner Bogosian, it was unanimously carried that the Clerk <br />be authorized to pay the bills of the appraiser, and the title <br />search and abstracts necessary in the acquisition of Lots 8 and 9, <br />Block 30, Original Town for the purpose of a parking lot. <br />It was reported that Luster Merriman has two lots 100 feet by <br />125 feet that he would be willing to sell to the County for a <br />parking lot at a price of $18,000.00.
