l I <br />t <br />STATE OF FLORIDA <br />COUNTY OF INDIAN RIVER <br />THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this <br />�dday of <br />1970,,• by and between the Board of County Commissioners <br />of Indian River County, Florida, and the City bf Orchid, a municipal <br />corporation of the State of Florida; <br />WITNESSETH: <br />Y <br />t <br />WHEREAS, the Legislature of the State of Florida did at its <br />1969 Session, enact what is now Chapter 69-54 of the Laws of Florida, <br />requiring that the several county tax assessors shall assess and the <br />several county tax collectors shall collect all property taxes for all <br />municipalities located within their respective counties, mandatorily <br />beginning with the year 1971, or at the election of the municipality, <br />beginning with the yeax 1970, and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Orchid has elected to come within the <br />provisions of said Act beginning with the year 1970 which election has <br />been by resolution duly made and adopted by the City Council of the <br />City of Orchid and transmitted to the Board of County Commissioners <br />of Indian River County, and <br />WHEREAS, it, is provided in said Chapter 69-54 that a contract <br />shall be negotiated between the governing bodies of the county and :the <br />municipalities regarding the compensation to be paid to the officials of <br />the county tax assessors and tax collectors for the value of the service <br />to be performed by them, and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River <br />County does not desire to obtain any profit to itself or to the tax <br />assessor and tax collector of said county for such services, but desires <br />that said officials shall merely be reimbursed for the actual cost <br />pertaining to such service, and <br />MAY 6 1970 <br />
