9 <br />WHEREAS, it is difficult, if not impossible, prior to the actual <br />rendering of such service, to determine what the actual cost thereof <br />4 <br />will be, but in. order to comply with the provisions of said Chapter <br />69-54, it is necessary that an amount be,fixed, subject to further <br />negotiation, and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River <br />County has indicated that the initial charge should be fixed on the basis <br />of $125.00 for each operation, that is to say, $125.00 to the tax assessor <br />for assessing, and $125.00 'to the tax collector for collecting such taxes, <br />subject to further negotiation; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the premises, the parties <br />hereto do agree as follows: <br />1. That the tax assessor of Indian River County will proceed 'to <br />assess the property within the City of Orchid for city tax purposes for <br />the year 1970 and the tax colledtor of Indian River County will proceed <br />to collect such taxes, in accordance with the law in such cases made <br />and provided. <br />2. That the City of Orchid will pay for such services $125.00 to <br />such tax assessor and $125.00 to the tax collector respectively. <br />3. At the end of the 1970 tax collection year, an d. not later than <br />May 1, 19710 a survey will be made subject to inspection of the City'of <br />Orchid to determine the exact cost of such service to the city by the <br />tax assessor and tax collector and if the same shall be determined to <br />be less than the amount herein contracted to be paid, the difference <br />shall be returned to the City by the Board of County Commissioners <br />out of the excess fees of the respective offices of tax assessor and tax <br />collector. <br />4. This contract shall be subject to renegotiation after the year <br />1970. <br />-2- <br />MAY 6 1970 <br />
