COUNTY ORDINANCE NO. 2 <br />1 An Ordinance to be entitled: <br />2 An Ordinance relating to the procurement of licenses to <br />3 carry firearms, providing for the application procedure, <br />4 providing for a fee to be paid for the issuing of the license, <br />5. providing standards for the issuing of licenses and pro - <br />6 viding an effective date. <br />7 Be it ordained by the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River <br />8 County: <br />9 Section 1. This Ordinance is enacted pursuant to Chapter 69.234, <br />10 Chapter 69. 32, Laws of Florida, 1969 and Florida Statute 790. 06 , 1969 <br />11 for the purpose of regulating the carrying of certain firearms in Indian <br />12 River County. This Ordinance shall apply and be enforced in all areas <br />13 of- Indian River County not within the boundaries of any municipality of <br />14 the county. <br />15 Section 2. When used in this Ordinance, the following words <br />16 shall mean: <br />17 a. Board shall mean the Board of County Commissioners of <br />18 Indian River County, Florida. <br />19 b. Concealed firearms means any firearms, as defined,in <br />20 subsection (c) when the same is carried on or about a person in such <br />21 a manner as to conceal said firearm from the ordinary sight of another <br />22 person. <br />23 c. Firearm means any.,,weapon which will, or is designed to or <br />24 may readily be converted to expel a projectile by the action of an <br />25 explosive; the frame or receiver of any such weapon; any firearm muffler <br />26 or ,silencer; any destructive device; or any machine gun. <br />96 <br />No V 4 1970 <br />
