No person, except law enforcement officers as <br />defined in Florida Statute 790.001, shall carry or have in his <br />manual possession in Indian River County, Florida, any concealed <br />firearm as above defined without having a license issued by the Board: <br />Section 4. Standards: Licenses to carry firearms will be <br />granted by the Board for a maximum of two years only to persons <br />over the age of twenty -on-& (21) years, of good moral character, who <br />have never been convicted of a felony or who having been convicted, <br />have had their civil rights restored. <br />Section 5. Bond: All applicants for a firearm license shall give <br />a bond payable to the Governor of the State in the sum of One Hundred <br />Dollars ($100.00) conditioned for the proper and legitimate use of said <br />firearms, with sureties to be approved by the Board. <br />Section 6. Application: Application for a firearm license shall be <br />made through the Clerk of the Circuit Court in and for Indian River County <br />on forms provided by the Clerk, which form shall include at least the <br />name and address of the applicant, the name of the maker of the firearm <br />licensed to be carried, the caliber and serial number of the firearm, and <br />the reason the license is needed. Each application shall be accompanied <br />by a written recommendation of approval signed by the Sheriff of Indian <br />River County and, in the case of an employee, who requests a firearm <br />license because of his employment, a written request for the license <br />signed by the employee's employer. <br />Section 7. Fees: A fee of $5.00 shall be paid by each applicant <br />to the Clerk at the time of filing of the application. Said fee to be retained <br />regardless of whether the application is approved or denied. .Said fees <br />so collected to become part of the General Fund of the County. <br />Section 8.
