ea X <br />. •3. 1. <br />p <br />a• <br />NOW'THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the'Chamber of Commerce <br />of Vero Beach <br />and Indian River County, does, <br />1) <br />Call upon the Board of County Commissioners of <br />Indian River County to immediately contact the <br />Department of Transportation of the State of <br />Florida and request that the signing for traffic <br />be revised to route Truck Traffic Only around <br />Vero Beach -- and the appropriate direction <br />signs to Vero Hauch bo iiista llad for the bono- <br />fit of passenger travelers and tourists, and <br />remove some of the Sunshine State Parkway signs <br />2) <br />Call upon said Board of County Commissioners to <br />determine a date certain for the completion of <br />construction of State Road 60, and further, <br />• <br />tha; said Board of County Commissioners us.e its <br />full powers to insure that such construction be <br />completed at the earliest possible date, and <br />penalties be applied. <br />3) <br />Request of the Board of County Commissioners <br />that the economic plight of businesses in Vero <br />Beach as the result of the signing program under- <br />taken by the Repartment of Transportation of the <br />State of Florida be brought to the attention of <br />the appropriate authorities of the Department <br />of Transportation of the State of Florida. <br />4) <br />Enlist the aid of the Board of County Commissioners <br />of Indian River County to work with the Chamber of <br />Commerce, in carrying this debate to the highest <br />authority in State and Federal government, if <br />necessary, to insure the correction of this in- <br />tolerable situation that is effecting.the welfare <br />of its many members and the community it serves. <br />ho v 97o <br />,ate. ...m. <br />
