Quality Assurance Plan <br /> Construction observations will be conducted daily by the COUNTY to include periodic night <br /> inspections The CONTRACTOR will conduct sampling for QC/QA purposes as outlined <br /> below ; the COUNTY will perform sampling on a " spot-check" basis . Daily inspection reports <br /> will be provided to the FDEP by the COUNTY during construction as warranted and following <br /> Project completion In addition weekly construction meetings of the COUNTY , the <br /> CONTRACTOR. and ENGINEER will be held to coordinate efforts . <br /> The Permittee will seek to enforce the construction Contract and Department permits related to <br /> sediment duality . In order to do so the following steps shall be followed : <br /> 1 Construction Observation Construction observation by the Permittee ' s On - Site <br /> Representative will be performed 7 days a week at least 8 hours a day during periods of active <br /> construction Most observations will be conducted during1 daylight hours ; however, random <br /> nighttime observations shall be conducted . <br /> 2 On - Site Representative The Permittee will provide on- site observation by individuals with <br /> training or experience in beach nourishment and construction observation and testing , and who <br /> are knowledgeable of the Project design and permit conditions . The Project ENGINEER, a <br /> qualified coastal engineer will actively coordinate with the Permittee ' s On - Site Representative , <br /> who may be an employee or sub - contractor of the Permittee or the ENGINEER. <br /> Communications will take place between the ENGINEER and the Permittee ' s On- Site <br /> Representative on a daily basis . <br /> 3 Pre- Construction Meeting The Proiect QC/QA Plan will be discussed as a matter of <br /> importance at the pre - construction meeting_ The CONTRACTOR will be required to <br /> acknowledge the goals and intent of the above described QC/QA Plan in writing prior to <br /> commencement of construction. <br /> 4 Contractor ' s Daily Reports The ENGINEER will review the CONTRACTOR ' s Daily <br /> Reports which characterize the nature of the sediments encountered at the borrow area and <br /> placed along the Project shoreline with specific reference to moist sand color and the occurrence <br /> of rock rubble shell silt or debris that exceeds acceptable limits . <br /> Page 18 of 26 <br /> March 16, 2010 <br />
