INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT 13 + 04? <br /> between <br /> INDIAN RIVER COUNTY <br /> and <br /> ST. LUCIE COUNTY <br /> relating to <br /> MULTI-COUNTY CITRUS AGENT <br /> i <br /> THIS INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT is made this7th _ day of May ; 2013, by <br /> and between INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, a political subdivision of the State of Florida, hereinafter <br /> referred to as "Indian River", and ST. LUCIE COUNTY, a political subdivision of the State <br />of <br /> Florida, hereinafter referred to as "St. Lucie" . <br /> WHEREAS, the citrus industry is a vital part of the economies of Indian River County and <br /> St. Lucie County, collectively referred to as the "Counties" s and, <br /> WHEREAS, the University of Florida/Institute for Food and Agricultural ' Sciences <br /> currently funds sixty percent ( 60%) of the costs for a Multi-County Citrus Agent to provide <br /> services to the citrus industry in the Counties, hereinafter referred to as "Agent" s and, , <br /> I <br /> WHEREAS, St . Lucie County currently funds the remaining forty percent (40% ) of the <br /> costs of the Agents and, <br /> important services provided to its citrus industry b the <br /> WHEREAS, In recognition of the Impo t err p y y <br /> Agent, Indian River is willing to contribute to St. Lucii' s portion of the funding of the position , <br /> and, <br /> WHEREAS, the parties have agreed to share forty percent (40%) of the Agent' s salary <br /> based upon their respective pro rata share of the total citrus acres in the two Counties . <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual advantages accruing to the parties <br /> and the benefits, promises, and consideration hereinafter set out, the School and the County <br /> agree as follows . <br /> 1 . GENERAL. This Agreement is entere into pursuant to Section 163 . 01, Florida <br /> Statutes, Florida Interlocal Cooperation Act . T�lis Agreement embodies the whole <br /> understanding of the parties. There are no premises, terms, conditions, or obligations other <br /> than those contained therein , and this Agreement shall supersede all previous <br /> telecommunications, representations, or agreement , either verbal or written, between the <br /> parties hereto . <br /> 2 .
