CLEARING AND GRUBBING <br /> 1 . SCOPE <br /> A. The Contractor shall furnish all labor , materials and equipment, and all operations required to clear <br /> and grub the site as shown on the Plans and specified herein . <br /> i <br /> 2 . GENERAL <br /> A. Clearing and grubbing shall consist of the complete removal and disposal of all trees , brush , logs , <br /> stumps , roots , weeds , rubbish , rocks , structures designated to be removed , concrete , and other <br /> deleterious material and obstructions resting upon or protruding through the surface of the ground . <br /> Stumps , roots 3" and over and similar obstructions shall be removed to a minimum depth of 2 feet <br /> below the existing ground . All structural items shall be excavated to full depth , completely removed , <br /> and the excavation backfilled per these specifications . <br /> B . The Contractor shall clear and grub the areas described below: <br /> 1 . All rights of way , easements , lots , and other areas where construction is to take place . <br /> 3 . DISPOSAL <br /> A . BURNING PERMITTED ONSITE <br /> i <br /> 1 . When permitted by local governing authorities , trees , stumps , brush , weeds , and similar natural <br /> materials may be burned on site . The Contractor shall dispose of all unburned residue off site , <br /> and if required by the Engineer, spread the ash . Material which will not burn or will not burn <br /> without air pollution such as asphalt and tires shall be hauled off site for disposal in an approved <br /> manner, <br /> B . OFF SITE DISPOSAL <br /> 1 . When on site burning is not permitted , all material shall be hauled off site by the Contractor for <br /> disposal in an approved manner. <br /> 2 . The Contractor shall be responsible for obtaining and complying with the provisions of all <br /> necessary permits . All fees shall be paid by the Contractor. <br /> 3 .
