( 1 ) year warranty period . All materials and installations proving to be defective within the <br /> specified period of the guaranty shall be replaced , without cost to the Owner, by the <br /> manufacturer, the Contractor or by the surety . The period of guarantee of each such <br /> replacement shall be one ( 1 ) year from and after date of installation thereof. <br /> The contractor is required to furnish to Indian River County a performance bond in the <br /> amount of 25 % of the contract sum of the water and sewer utility construction ; <br /> guaranteeing that the contractor warrants the utility facilities to be free from defect in <br /> materials and workmanship as prescribed by the subdivision , platting , and land <br /> development ordinances of Indian River County , Florida . <br /> 12 . POWER AND WATER - All arrangements and costs for temporary power and water during <br /> construction , shall be the responsibility of the Contractor. If the Contractor requires water <br /> for his operations , he shall make application for service in compliance with current <br /> regulations and pay all costs in connection therewith . Unless otherwise set forth in the <br /> Schedule of Bid Items , the cost of power and water shall be included in the contract price . <br /> 13 . SALVAGED MATERIAL - All pipe , valves and fittings that are salvaged during this <br /> construction shall become the property of the Owner and shall be delivered to the Owner' s <br /> designated site of storage , and receipts therefore delivered to the Engineer within 48 hours <br /> of removal from service . <br /> 14 . DISTRIBUTION OF MATERIALS ON JOB SITE - Water main and force main pipe may <br /> be strung out along the construction centerline , except that deliveries shall be so <br /> scheduled such that no pipe or materials will be stored in any one location or vicinity <br /> thereof for more than 30 days . <br /> Storm sewer pipe shall be delivered to the job as required , but shall not be stored in <br /> any one location or vicinity thereof for more than 30 days . Sanitary sewer pipe shall be <br /> delivered only to and for the block between intersecting streets on which construction is <br /> under way . <br /> 15 . CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE REQUIRED - Prior to the commencements of work by the <br /> Contractor, he shall have submitted a construction schedule to , and have received approval <br /> of same from the Engineer and the Owner's Representative . The construction schedule will <br /> be discussed at the pre-construction meeting of the Engineer and Contractor. Mandatory <br /> starting points , required commencement areas , construction sequence , prescribed order of <br /> completion , and completion timetables essential to the Owner, in addition to the time for <br /> completion as stated in the agreement , will be noted in an appendix to these special <br /> provisions , and will be incorporated into the construction schedule . <br /> 16 . ORDER OF WORK AND CLEANUP - All construction will be done on a block by block <br /> basis unless otherwise approved by the engineer. Before moving construction operations <br /> from one block to the next block , the Contractor is required to complete all work , except <br /> testing . A block is defined as the street lying between the first two successive intersecting <br /> streets . Work will include all phases of construction including but not limited to pipe mains <br /> and laterals , backfill , all structures including manholes , temporary road patching , curb , <br /> sidewalk and driveway replacement, hand-raking of shoulders and all areas disturbed by <br /> the Contractor, hand-brooming of the streets , seeding and/or sodding , and a final wash - <br /> down of the pavement . To this end , the Contractor will maintain on the job , a self-propelled <br /> sprinkler truck to lay dust , wash down pavements , and maintain grassed and sodded <br /> SP-3 <br />
