0 <br />TUESDAY, OCTOBER lst 1929. <br />Die Board of county Commissioners in and for Indian River County, Florida, met <br />at the Court House in "Vero Beach, at 10 o'clock A.M.Tuesday, uctober lot 1929, with <br />the following members of the Board present: Albert U. Helseth, Uhairman; J.D.Yongue; <br />J.W.1aBruee J.J.P.Hamilton and John H.Atkin. also present were Miles Warren, Clerk <br />and Clark S. Rice, ` eriff a <br />The minutes of the previous meetings were read and approved. <br />The County Nurse appeared before the Board and made report on various paupers <br />in the County. it was ordered that bills incurred by the County Hurs.e in connect- <br />ion with paupers be approved for payment and the recommendations made by her be <br />accepted by the Board. Accordingly the following was placed on the pauper list: <br />ROM BONDIOLI....... .....$10.00 <br />J.R.ALIMH (increase)..... 5.00 <br />Jas. T. Rick appeared before the Board regarding rents and the storage of equ <br />ment of Lawrence Construction company's property in the Simonson warehouse. .after <br />reading action previously taken by this Board the matter was dropped. <br />The following resolution was offered by Commissioner Yongue, who moved its <br />adoption, seconded by Commissioner Hamilton: <br />WHMUM, J. M. Anight and associates have offered to donate to the County of <br />Indian River a parcel of land to be used as a site for a county Jail and county Court <br />House, and <br />HEMS, the Board of County Commissioners of s aid County by resolution adopted <br />on the 3rd day of September 1929, accepted said offer, and, <br />*HEREAS, the sole consideration to said Knight and associates for the conve3tance <br />of said property for the purpose aforesaid, is the promise and agreement of the Boars <br />of County Commissioners of said County to erect a County jail and County Court House <br />on said property as soon as it shall be deemed expedient and proper to erect such <br />County buildings, <br />BOW TAEREFORU9 be it resolved by the Board of County uommissidners of Indian <br />River County, Florida, that in consideration of the conveyance of the said property <br />the said County of Indian River as in said former resolution provided, this Board <br />has and does hereby contract and agree to and with said J .H.Knight and associates <br />to build a County Jail and County Court House on said property as soon as the erec- <br />tion of such buildings shall be found to be expedient and proper. <br />The resolution being put to a vote was unanimously adopted. <br />A. 0. Greynolds appeared before the -board regarding contract for oiling roads is <br />the County with A.O.Greynolds, Inc. , a corporation. <br />It was moved, seconded and carried that the contract be terminated, the balance <br />due be paid, and bond be released with the understanding in future any road oiling <br />to be done the necessary contract will be made, in the nature of a re-newal of the <br />now rescinded contract, at the then prevailing price for such work. <br />I <br />The bTotarg .blic bond of Uhas. P. Diamond, inthe sum of §500.00 with the <br />American Surety Company, of New York, a corporation as surety was approved. <br />Deed was received from Henry C. Siarpley, Trustee to the Board of County Com- <br />missioners for County Jail and County Court House site. It, was ordered referred to <br />the County attorney. <br />Letter was received and read from Jas. T. Vocelle regarding salary as County <br />- ttorney. it was moved by Commissioner Hamilton, ,seeonded by Commissioner Yongue <br />that Mr. Vo celle be paid the salary for the month of September and not paid for the <br />
