Brief Assessment of <br />County's Target <br />Industries <br />(What Companies the <br />County is or should be <br />pursuing) <br />Items To Include <br />Briefly review and assess the County's current <br />Target Industry list, and recruitment and retention <br />efforts by Indian River County, its municipalities <br />and the Indian River County Chamber of <br />Commerce. <br />Identify industry clusters that have developed/ <br />expanded in Indian River County over the past <br />ten years Identify industry clusters developing in <br />adjacent counties. <br />Identify new target industries that the County <br />may want to consider pursuing more <br />aggressively Provide the associated business <br />case for each recommended change. <br />Product <br />Report #3: <br />Summary report <br />with <br />recommended <br />changes to <br />Target Industry <br />List <br />Report due: <br />November 14th <br />Due Date <br />November 14, <br />2014* <br />(Approx. 3 to 4 <br />months after <br />contract <br />execution <br />Consultant will review your current target industries and look at the research <br />completed to date (e.g , on-site visit, business and community interviews, <br />asset mapping, positioning, etc.) along with recent expansions and <br />relocations in the county to determine if the current industries still make sense <br />and if there might be additional industries that would be a good fit. Report <br />item resulting from this step will be a written assessment of the County's <br />target industries, which will be completed and provided to the County by <br />November 14th, 2014 <br />$4,000 <br />New Target Industry/Cluster Analysis: Starting from scratch (no bias on <br />specific target industries) consultant reviews all of the research conducted to <br />date (quantitative and qualitative) and also perform an economic base <br />analysis to understand which industries are most prevalent in the county. This <br />analysis takes the 2 -digit NAICS code level and looks at the size and growth <br />of the industries over a 5 -year period and compares specific criteria with that <br />of the region, state and U.S. <br />From there, consultant dives deeper into key industries and also look at <br />industry trends and assets of the county to determine the best fit. This also <br />includes specific target industry asset maps for the county and industry <br />specific positioning statements for the county. <br />$16,000 (in <br />addition to <br />proposed <br />solution) <br />
