ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER MCCULLERS, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />MASSEY, VICE CHAIRMAN Loy VOTED IN FAVOR TO INSTALL AN OVERHEAD <br />FIRE ESCAPE- OF ALUMINMUM CONSTRUCTION - AT AN APPROXIMATE COST <br />NOT TO EXCEED $1.300.00. VICE CHAIRMAN Loy ADVISED THE ADMINISTRATOR <br />TO CONSULT WITH JUDGE D.C. SMITH AND SHERIFF SAM T. .JOYCE FOR -THEIR <br />RECOMMENDATIONS REGARDING THE LOCATION OF THE FIRE ESCAPE, <br />THE ADMINISTRATOR REPORTED THE FOLLOWING MATTERS: <br />1. Mr. Mike Jaynes,.Consultant of National City Management <br />Company was in Indian River County on October Sth and 6th <br />making additional reconnaissance surveys and reviewing <br />study material with the County Administrator. <br />It is anticipated that the first short range technical <br />transit study report will be ready for review within <br />one month. <br />2. Mr. James Beindorf of Beindorf and Smith Inc., Consulting <br />.Engineers preparing the Area Wide Water and Sewerage Plan_ <br />for Indian River County and the County Administrator <br />appeared before the City Councils in Sebastian and <br />Fellsmere, Florida on Monday Evening, October 9, 1972 <br />to discuss the current project status. <br />The County -Administrator attended the council meeting of <br />the Town of Indian River Shores on September 28, 1972 at <br />which time Councilman Conrad Tuerk and Thomas Lockwood <br />were appointed as liaison members to serve on a water <br />sewerage study committee. Councilmen Alex MacWilliam <br />and Robert Kohler were appointed to serve as liaison <br />members on a committee to study the location for a county <br />fire station within that area. <br />3. On Tuesday, October 10th, the County Administrator made <br />a field reconnaissance trip on Jungle Trail with Mr. R. S. <br />Strickland, Representative from William Carlton's office, <br />Department of Natural Resources, Tallahassee regarding river <br />shoreline restoration along the county rpad.. <br />THE ADMINISTRATOR INFORMED THE BOARD OF A REQUEST TO OPEN <br />AND MAINTAIN ROADS IN THE FELLSMERE FARMS DRAINAGE DISTRICT. THESE <br />ARE NOT COUNTY ROADS AND IT WAS THE ADMINISTRATOR'S RECOMMENDATION <br />THAT A WRITTEN POLICY WITH THE FELLSMERE FARMS DRAINAGE DISTRICT, <br />AS TO WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THESE ROADS BE PREPARED.
