The <br />total amount of these bonds was_$11,700,000. $1375187888 <br />Local Policies and Practices <br />As part of the capital improvements planning process, it is <br />important to do an inventory of current Indian River County <br />policies and practices which guide the timing, location, expansion, <br />-or increase in capacity of capital facilities. These policies and <br />practices relate to the county's existing level of service <br />standards, impact fee programs, the existing comprehensive plan and <br />enterprise funds accounts. <br />Existing Level of Service (LOS) Standards <br />Level of service (LOS) standards are indicators of the extent or <br />degree of service provided by, or proposed to be provided by, a <br />facility based on and related to the operational characteristics of <br />the facility. LOS indicates the capacity per unit of demand of <br />each public facility. <br />LOS standards can affect the timing and location of development by <br />guiding development to areas where facilities may have excess <br />capacity. <br />m <br />
