1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 - <br />5 Section 103.24 Sub -Committees: <br />6 <br />7 1) The Children's Services Advisory Committee may establish the change of membership in or <br />8 termination of the existence of any sub -committees. Each committee shall be named and shall <br />9 have and may exercise such powers as delegated by the Children's Services Advisory <br />10 Committee through the Board of County Commissioners. Committees may be composed of <br />11 Children's Services Advisory Committee members and citizens who are Indian River County <br />12 residents. Only Children's Services Advisory Committee members shall serve as committee <br />13 chairs. A minimum of three people will serve on each committee. <br />14 <br />15 2) There shall be standing sub -committees created by the Children's Services Advisory <br />16 Committee. The Children's Services Advisory Committee chair shall appoint the committee <br />17 chairs with the approval of the Children's Services Advisory Committee. Annually Standing <br />18 Sub -Committees will evaluate their effectiveness and make recommendations to the <br />19 Children's Services Advisory Committee. <br />20 <br />21 a) Nominating Sub -Committee: Potential appointees shall submit resumes to the Board <br />22 of County Commissioners and the Board will make the selection. <br />23 <br />24 b) Community Needs Assessment and Planning Sub -Committee: Identify and assess the <br />25 needs of children of Indian River County through a needs assessment and asset <br />26 mapping; submit to the Board of County Commissioners through the Children's <br />27 Services Advisory Committee a written description of those needs. Provide and <br />28 update short term and long term plan to the Children's Services Advisory Committee <br />29 including, but not limited to: <br />30 <br />31 i) Programs, services, and activities that meet the objectives of the Children's <br />32 Services Advisory Board. <br />33 <br />34 ii) A detailed budget for activities, services, and programs recommended to <br />35 receive funding from the Board of County Commissioners. <br />36 <br />37 c) Grant Review and Program Sub -Committee: In coordination with the Executive Office <br />38 Director, review and revise requests for proposal (RFP) based on need determination <br />39 and set priorities. Submit to Children's Services Advisory Committee for approval. <br />40 Review and recommend letters of intent submitted by agencies requesting funding. <br />41 Through Executive Office Director, notify selected grant applicant of second step <br />42 process. Review final RFPs and make recommendations for funding to Children's <br />43 Services Advisory Committee, who will then recommend to the Board of County <br />44 Commissioners for funding. Receive, review and present to Children's Services <br />45 Advisory Committee members' quarterly (at a minimum) reports from funded <br />Revised: 1/28/99 <br />
