5) Bikeways <br />(a) Locations. The project developer shall install or escrow <br />for a bikeway(s) along the project site's frontage on all <br />rights-of-way or easements as designated in the county <br />bikeway/sidewalk plan and along all streets designated by <br />the community development department as school access <br />corridors. With the approval of the board of county <br />commissioners, sufficient funds may be escrowed by the <br />developer with the county to complete the required <br />bikeway. <br />(b) Specifications. Bikeways shall be constructed in <br />Iaccordance with specifications found in the County's <br />comprehensive bikeway and sidewalk plan. In revie�•jing <br />proposed bikeway specifications, the public works <br />department shall consider the applicability of the <br />followinq guidelines. Bikeways shall: <br />(1) Be the width specified in the County Comprehensive <br />bikeway and sidewalk plan; <br />(2) Be constructed in accordance with the "Bicycle <br />Facilities Planning and Design Manual" (1982 <br />revision) prepared by the Florida Department of <br />Transaortation and the Bikewav and Sidewalk Plan. <br />(c) Alternate specifications. Where any of the abovE <br />guidelines are impractical or impossible to implement, <br />the applicant, with approval of the public workc. <br />director, may substitute suitable alternatE <br />specifications described in the referenced design manual. <br />(d) Identification. Bikeways shall be posted or identified <br />by permanent markings as follows: <br />Area Characteristics Sign -Placement, Pavement <br />Markinq Criteria <br />ommercial At each intersecting street and <br />thereafter every 500 feet <br />
