ORDINANCE NO. 98m 0 9 <br />(g) Increased Foundation Plantings for "Blank Facade" Building Faces <br />As referenced in the architectural/building standards section of this plan, "blank <br />facade" building faces that are unarticulated are allowed if foundation plantings are <br />provided as specified above with a 100% increase (doubling) in required plant <br />material quantities (as specified above), <br />(Z Connection to Pedestrian System <br />Projects fronting on roads with existing or planned/required sidewalks and/or bikeways <br />shall provide a pedestrian path from the project to the existing or future sidewalk and/or <br />bikeway. Said pedestrian path shall have a minimum width of 5', shall consist of a rigid <br />surface meeting Florida Accessibility Code requirements. and may include properly <br />marked areas that cross parking lots and driveways. <br />(B) Architectural/Building Standards <br />(See Figure <br />F-7 through <br />Architectural <br />Styles: <br />F-10 <br />at the <br />end of section <br />911.19) <br />(a) <br />(Z Connection to Pedestrian System <br />Projects fronting on roads with existing or planned/required sidewalks and/or bikeways <br />shall provide a pedestrian path from the project to the existing or future sidewalk and/or <br />bikeway. Any kitsch architecture (such as a building that does not resemble a typical <br />structure including: structures or elements that resemble an exaggerated plant, <br />fish, edible food, or other such items such as giant oranges, ice cream cones, <br />dinosaurs. <br />3. Any architecture having a historical reference that is so different from current <br />design philosophy that such reference is inconsistent and/or incompatible with <br />surrounding structures. Examples of such include: igloos, domes or geodesic <br />domes. Quonset style structures, teepees, to cg abins, western "false fronts", <br />medieval castles, caves, and the like. <br />Architectural/Building Exemptions & Special Requirements <br />1. Industrial and Storage Uses in the CH, IL, and 10 Districts: Compliance <br />shall be required only for those facades fronting on residentially designated <br />areas or public or platted roads. However, industrial buildings shall satisfy <br />the color requirements. <br />Coding: Words in striice�tinau type are deletions from existing law.
