THE ADMINISTRATOR WILL REVIEW THE REQUEST FOR PAVING OF <br />ROADS AS REQUESTED BY THE GIFFORD CIVIC LEAGUE AND REPORT BACK TO THE <br />BOARD. <br />COMMISSIONER DRITENBAS, SUGGESTED THAT STREET SIGNS <br />BE POSTED INDICATING NORTH GIFFORD ROAD AND SOUTH GIFFORD ROAD, <br />THE ADMINISTRATOR WILL INVESTIGATE <br />THIS. <br />THE ADMINISTRATOR INFORMED THE BOARD THAT THE DEPARTMENT <br />OF TRANSPORTATION HAS APPROVED TRAFFIC CONTROL LIGHTS AT THE <br />INTERSECTION OF U.S. HIGHWAY #1 AND STATE ROAD 5A AND STATE ROAD <br />510. <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER MASSEY, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />SIEBERT, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED THE INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC <br />CONTROL SIGNALS AT THE INTERESTION OF.U.S.HIGHWAY #1 AND STATE ROAD <br />5A AND STATE ROAD 510. <br />COMMISSIONER SIEBERT BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE <br />BOARD A HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITION CREATED BY GRAVES BROS. COMPANY <br />STACKING PALLETS CLOSE TO THE HIGHWAY WHICH INTERFERS WITH DRIVING <br />VISIBILITY. <br />THE ADMINISTRATOR WAS INSTRUCTED TO WRITE TO GRAVES BROS. <br />COMPANY STATING WE WOULD APPRECIATE THEIR COOPERATION AND MOVE THE <br />PALLETS TO ALLOW BETTER DRIVING VISIBILITY. <br />L.S'. THOMAS", FLNANCE OFFICER INFORMED THE BOARD OF A <br />COMMUNICATION FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE REGARDING THE <br />EMERGENCY EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM THAT WE WILL ONLY HAVE FUNDS AVAILABLE <br />THROUGH MAY, 1973. ALL PARTICIPANTS IN THE PROGRAM HAVE BEEN <br />NOTIFIED OF THIS. <br />SHERIFF SAM T. .JOYCE APPEARED STATING THAT SINCE ARTICLE <br />V OF THE CONSTITUTION OF THE STATE OF FLORIDA HAS BEEN ENACTED THERE <br />ARE ADDITIONAL PROCEDURES THAT MUST BE FOLLOWED BY HIS DEPARTMENT. <br />IN ORDER TO DO THIS IT WILL BE NECESSARY TO HIRE THREE EMPLOYEES. <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER MASSEY, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />SIEBERT, COMMISSIONER BOGOSIAN VOTED IN OPPOSITION, THE BOARD <br />APPROVED THE SHERIFF EMPLOYING THREE EMPLOYEES AS OF MAY 1, 1973. <br />A. RICHARD TODD, REPRESENTING THE INDIAN RIVER COUNTY <br />VOLUNTEER AMBULANCE SQUAD APPEARED REQUESTING ADDITIONAL FUNDS <br />FOR THE NEW BEACH SUB -STATION BUILDING. THE BOARD APPROVED $10,000.00 <br />_10 - <br />APR <br />10 -APR 4 1973. ' . <br />
