2�8 <br />TUESDAY, DECEMBER 3rd 1929., <br />The Board of County Commissioners in and for Indian River County, Florida, met <br />at the Court House in Vero Beach, at 10 o'clock A.M.Tuesday, :December 3rd. 19299with. <br />the following members of the Board present: Albert 0. Helseth, Chairman; J.D.Yongue <br />J.V'd.LaBruce; J.J.P.Hemilton and John H. Atkin. Also present were Miles Vdarren, <br />Clerk and Clark S. Rice, Sheriff. I' <br />G <br />The minutes of the previous meetings. were read and approved. <br />Dr. W.H.Hum.iston appeared before the Board requesting use of County Trucks to <br />haul muck for the Besattification program. The County Engineer was instructed to <br />furnish the necessary trucks for this work on Thursday, December 5th. <br />The County Engineer was ordered to put in road from the Highway to the ;school <br />House at Wabasso. <br />The County Agent filed his monthly report and also his report of activities <br />for the year 1930. <br />Mr. Mc Cullers appeared before the Board requesting the privilege of renting <br />county Tractor in accordance with the agreement heretofore made with Chao -Harris. <br />it was ordered the County Engineer do this work under the same conditions that the <br />work for Harris was done. <br />The following Road petition was received, read and filed: <br />ROAD PETITION. <br />STATE OF FLORIDA, <br />COUNTY OF INDIAN RIVER) <br />TO TIM HONORABLE BOARD OF COUNTY 0011MISSIONERS: <br />Gentlemen:- <br />We, the undersigned, citizens of the County of Indian River, State of <br />N <br />Florida, respectfully represent that the necessitites of the public require a Count; <br />P <br />road to be laid out as follows, to -wit: Commencing at a point ten. (10) feet North <br />of the South-east corner of the worth -east one-quarter of Section Thirty-one (31) <br />V Township Thirty-one (31) Southq Range Thirty-nine (39) East. Thence meetparallel <br />to the East and vest center section line of said section to the east bank of the <br />N :Sebastian Creek. Said road right-of-way to be fifty (50) feet in width, twenty- <br />five feet on either side of the above described center line. <br />wherefore we petition your honorable body to cause to be laid out and opened <br />a County Road as above described, and we, the owners of the land through which said <br />i <br />road is sought to be laid out, in consideration of the sum of One dollar to us each <br />and severally in hand paid by the County of Indian River, the receipt of which is <br />hereby acknowledged, hereby agree to give the right-of-way through our lands, as sh <br />by the plat accompanying this petition, and relinquish all claims for damage by <br />reason thereof. <br />It was ordered that G.A.Stinson; V.M.Michael and D.L.Leisher, be appointed a <br />committee to view, mark and lay out said road and report to this Board. <br />Chas. A. Mitchell,! representing the Town of Wabas so appeared before the Board <br />requesting the County Commissioners to agree to levy a tax in the territory em - <br />bracing the Town of viabasso to retire indebtedness of said Town, it being shown tha <br />the citizens described to surrender theirmunicipal charter. It was ordered that <br />this matter be referred to the Board's attorney to work out satisfactorily. <br />In accordance with advertisement published in accordance with law, and the <br />hour having arrived for the opening of bids, the following Companies submitted <br />proposals to furnish gasoline to the County for the year 1930: <br />1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />
