conformity sign to a conforming height would exceed fifty <br />(50) percent of the cost to replace the sign and the building <br />official verifies the appropriateness of the estimated <br />replacement cost, then the sign shall not need to be made a <br />"compatible freestanding sign." However, when such an <br />exemption applies the property owner shall provide <br />landscaping around the base or support structures of such a <br />sign to visually screen the pole subject to sight distance <br />requirements, as approved by the community development <br />director. <br />g Project entry features: Project entry features such as walls <br />and archways shall be limited to a maximum height of 8 feet <br />above the project grade In addition where a wall or archway <br />is proposed, foundation plantings shall be provided on the CR <br />510 side of such wall or archway, as specified herein for <br />commercial buildings up to 12 feet high Said foundation <br />plantings shall be credited toward satisfying any required CR <br />510 landscape buffer. Project entry features such as <br />guardhouses which have sloped roofs are allowed if located <br />no closer than 125 feet from the centerline of CR 510 and are <br />no taller than 20 feet above grade at the sloped roof peak <br />2. REPEAL OF CONFLICTING PROVISIONS <br />All previous ordinances, resolutions, or motions of the Board of County Commissioners of <br />Indian River County, Florida which conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed <br />to the extent of such conflict. All Special Acts of the legislature applying only to the unincorporated <br />portion of Indian River County which conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby <br />repealed to the extent of such conflict. <br />3. CODIFICATION <br />The provisions of this ordinance shall be incorporated into the County Code and the word <br />"Ordinance" may be changed to "section", "article", or other appropriate word, and the sections of <br />this ordinance may be renumbered or relettered to accomplish such intentions. <br />If any section, part of a sentence, paragraph, phrase or word of this ordinance is for any <br />reason held to be unconstitutional, inoperative or void, such holdings shall not affect the remaining <br />portions hereof and it shall be construed to have been the legislative intent to pass this ordinance <br />without such unconstitutional, invalid or inoperative part. <br />Coding: Words in sts lite thi otigi type are deletions from existing law.
