ORDINANCE NO. 2001=003 <br />(stepping or sloping of a parapet wall in conjunction <br />with a low sloped roof is prohibited). Flat, blank, <br />unarticulated, or massive facades will be permitted on <br />the sides and rear of a building where "blank facade <br />foundation plantings" are provided for such building <br />facade faces (see foundation plantings section for <br />requirements). <br />ii. The following materials or systems are prohibited as <br />a finish and/or exposed product: corrugated or ribbed <br />metal panels, smooth finish concrete block (standard <br />concrete masonry units), precast concrete tee systems, <br />plywood or textured plywood. Plywood shall be <br />allowed for soffit material. <br />Plastic or metal is prohibited as a finish material for <br />walls or trim. Plastic is prohibited as a finish material <br />for sloped roofs, visible roof structures, and facias. <br />Although prohibited in general, certain metal and <br />plastic construction products may be approved by the <br />planning and zoning commission, upon a written <br />request and product sample submitted by the <br />applicant. The planning and zoning commission may <br />approve use of the material if the following criteria <br />are satisfied: <br />• The product shall <br />appear <br />authentic <br />from the <br />closest distance <br />that it <br />will be viewed <br />by the <br />shall be <br />substantial. Thin <br />and <br />general <br />public. <br />• The product shall hold up as well as the <br />product it is imitating. That is, it must be <br />fabricated in such a way that it will retain its <br />original shape, appearance, and color, as well <br />as the product it is imitating. <br />• The product's color shall resemble the color of <br />the product it is imitating. <br />iv.
