7/13/01(ord/sell lic)Zw <br />ORDINANCE 2001-022 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, <br />AMENDING SECTIONS 302.04.7 AND 302.02 OF THE <br />CODE OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, ORDINANCE NO, 91- <br />517 TO AUTHORIZE DESIGNATED AND APPROVED PET <br />SUPPLY STORES TO CONTRACT WITH INDIAN RIVER <br />COUNTY TO FACILITATE THE ISSUANCE OF ANIMAL <br />LICENSES; AMENDING SECTION 302.03 OF THE CODE <br />OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, ORDINANCE NO, 91-513 TO <br />REFLECT RENUMBERING OF SECTION 585.69, FLORIDA <br />STATUTES; AND PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION, <br />SEVERABILITY, AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE, <br />WHEREAS, Section 302.04.7 of The Code of Indian River County, <br />Ordinance 91-51, authorizes certain licensed veterinarians in the county to issue <br />animal licenses; and <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Emergency Services has recognized that pet <br />supply companies, which offer low cost pet vaccinations through visiting licensed <br />veterinarians, should also have the ability to issue animal licenses at the time of <br />the vaccination; and <br />WHEREAS, Section 585.69, Florida Statutes, has been renumbered, <br />Be It Ordained by the Board of County Commissioners of Indian <br />River County, Florida: <br />SECTION I. AMENDMENTS. <br />1. Section 302.04.7 of The Code of Indian River County, as set forth in <br />Indian River County, Ordinance No. 91-51, is hereby amended to read as <br />follows: <br />7. The Director of the Division of Animal Control, upon approval <br />by the Director of Emergency Services, may enter into contractual <br />arrangements with any licensed veterinarian or with the owner of <br />any designated and approved pet supply store in this county to <br />seFye as its agent for the nU FPE)se Of liGensing animals issue animal <br />licenses under this chapter.
