Comprehensive Plan Intergovernmental Coordination Element <br />on January 1, 1982. The agreement delegated <br />Administrative Code Rule 17-5 to the DOF, <br />responsibility for enforcing sections of Florida <br />- Protection of Historic Sites and Properties <br />This program is administered by the Division of Historical Resources in the Florida Department of <br />State. The Division of Historical Resources primarily assists local communities with their historic <br />preservation efforts by helping to identify, evaluate, and maintain or mitigate damage to significant <br />historical resources in an area. <br />- Registration of Subdivided Lands <br />The Division or Florida Land Sales and Condominiums in the Florida Department of Business <br />Regulation is responsible for administering the program to register subdivided lands in Florida and <br />property offered to Florida Residents. <br />- Consumptive Use of Water <br />The St. Johns River Water Management District administers programs for permitting of consumptive <br />use of water. <br />- Management and Storage of Surface Water <br />The St. Johns River Water Management District administers permitting programs for the <br />management and storage of surface water within Indian River County. <br />- Water Wells and Artificial Recharge <br />Many of the water management districts in the state have been delegated the authority to regulate <br />public and non-public supply water wells. <br />Four of five water management districts currently administer permitting programs for water wells. <br />These WMD's are the St. Johns River Water Management District, the Northwest Florida Water <br />Management District, the Suwannee River Water Management District, and the Southwest Florida <br />Water Management District. <br />- Works of the Water Management Districts <br />The St. Johns River Water Management District, the Southwest Florida Water Management District, <br />and the South Florida Water Management District administer permitting programs for use of the <br />works of the water management district (WMD) <br />Community Development Department <br />Indian River County is part of the SJRWMD <br />Indian River County 12 <br />
