Regional Water Authorities (WA) <br />Metropolitan Planning Organization <br />The Indian River County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is the primary agency <br />responsible for transportation planning in the urbanized area of Indian River County. Consisting of <br />nine voting members representing the local governments within the county, two non-voting <br />representatives from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), a non-voting representative <br />from the Indian River County School Board, and a non-voting representative from the Town of <br />Orchid, the MPO is a legislative authority with the power to develop and adopt plans, and to set <br />priorities for the programming of improvements to the transportation system. <br />To help make decisions, the MPO uses recommendations from advisory committees. These <br />committees are: <br />Technical Advisory Committee <br />- Citizens Advisory Committee <br />Bicycle/Pedestrian Advisory Committee <br />Community Development Department Indian River County 17 <br />
