Comprehensive Plan Intergovernmental Coordination Element <br />• Others <br />The county has coordinated with a number of other jurisdictions and agencies on <br />various intergovernmental issues, including: <br />The School District of'Indian River County Seheal Board <br />A memorandum of understanding between the county and the school board <br />regarding site selection and site plan reviews for school facilities was <br />executed in December 1986 The Interlocal AVreenient Tor Public School <br />Planning �was executed in 2(x3 between the__C'ount_y. the School_Board, the <br />.__._ <br />City of Vero Beach. the City of Sebastian and the Cite of' 1;ellsmere. <br />Consistent with the reduirenients ol. Section 163.3177—(6)(a), F.S. <br />requirements, the county and school board coordinate with each other <br />regarding availability of lands proximate to residential developments for <br />current and anticipated school sites. Also, the county and school board have <br />jointly established school siting criteria for schools of different types and <br />sizes. <br />Since schools are permitted in all of the county's residential and commercial <br />land use and zoning districts, there is a substantial amount of land in close <br />proximity to future residential developments which can be used for <br />construction of new schools. The county and school board regularly <br />coordinate regarding development patterns and the selection of school sites. <br />Compatibility of schools with surrounding uses is addressed through a joint <br />county/school board site plan analysis cooperation committee. <br />Indian River County Council on Aging <br />The county has an agreement with the Indian River County Council on <br />Aging, Inc. (Community Transportation Coordinator) for the provision of <br />transportation services to the transportation disadvantaged population. <br />- Brevard County <br />The county has an agreement with Brevard County on several issues, <br />including landfill siting. <br />St. Lucie County <br />The county has an agreement with St. Lucie County on several issues, <br />including emergency services, and establishment of the Treasure Coast Jobs <br />and Education Partnership Program, <br />Community Development Department Indian River County 47 <br />
